Library

In academic pursuit specifically in higher education, libraries take a central role. The college library of Sree Vidyadhi Raja NSS College strives to accomplish the mission and vision of the college, Uthishtatha Jagrata Prapya Varan Nibodhata (Arise! Awake! and Stop not till the goal is reached). The library was established in 1965 as a treasure trove of various books on different disciplines that support students and teachers in their academic endeavours. The college library houses more than 27200 books and subscribes to more than 25 journals and magazines. The infrastructure spans over 5000 sq. ft. The library functions on working days from 9 am to 4 pm. Library with the help of digital library performs as a scholarly partner to students, researchers and faculty to meet their educational, informational and research requirements.

Open access system is followed in the library and the books are well stacked in accordance with the International Dewey Decimal Classification System. In order to keep in tune with the time and also to improve efficiency and speed in its services, the library is automated a full featured open-source Integrated Library Management System, Koha. The library provides adequate infrastructure, aesthetic environment and suitable ambience for serious study.

Apart from a rich collection of print resources, the library in tune with the changing times has given thrust to making available digital resources too. The library subscribes to the N-LIST database provided by UGC- INFLIBNET from 2019. A digital library platform is being developed and is made useful for archiving college publications, questions papers etc, enriching the library’s digital collection.
