The
diverse activities of the College Union, Arts Club all Faculty Associations,
various other clubs like Nature Club, Music Club, Health Club, Literary
Club, Drama Club, Tourism Club, Career Club, Photography club, and Yoga
Club, forums like Planning Forum, Science Forum etc., welfare programmes
like Seva Club, Blood Donor's Club, Vanitha Vedi, extension activities
of the Departments, Students' Associations of all Departments, the NSS,
NCC, all serve as incentives to bring out and promote the inborn talents
of the students, to instill the spirit of service and discipline in
them, and to make them better human beings.
The
College has an Employment Cell and a Placement Officer. Since it is
an Arts and Science College there is not much scope for direct recruitment.
The placement cell gives the students right guidance for self-employment,
information on job opportunities and coaching for personality development.
The
teachers generally do personal counselling of students. In addition,
there is a Counselling Centre in the college where two qualified counselors
do the counselling. The college has a unique Yoga Club that takes care
of the physical and mental health of the students.
The
college offers a variety of leisure time activities for the students.
Indoor games, outdoor games, cultural activities, audio video facilities,
Arts Club, Literary Club, Nature Club, reading, gardening, Seva Club,
Health Club and all steal the leisure time of the students.
There
is a Palm garden in the college, which adds to its uniqueness. The garden
has almost all the varieties of palms in India. A medicinal Plant Garden
is also maintained in the campus with the help of Nagarjuna Herbal Medicines,
an ayurvedic firm.
Every
Department in the college has a Grievance Redressal Cell. It is a fast
track remedial mechanism wherein all valid and legitimate grievances
of the students and staff are heard and solved. The College Council
is the appealing authority.
Alumni Association
The college has
an Alumni Association. It acts like a back- bone to the institution
by extending all sorts of help in both academic and non- academic activities.
